The ticks produce a poisonous substance that affects mammals like dogs and causes paralysis and in that sense, it is not the ticks that are affected but the dogs. This toxin is released into the blood stream of the dog when the tick bites causing muscular weakness.

Not all dogs and mammals suffer from this kind of a paralysis on being bitten by ticks as only some of them bear the brunt, while some others only experience weakness in their hind legs. It has been observed that since the effect of the poison injected by the tick works differently on different mammals, certain mammals tend to even die since their respiratory muscles weaken and they are not able to breathe.

By knowing about the different kind of paralysis that is caused by the ticks in different mammals, you can prevent things from becoming worse by quickly taking out the ticks and casting them away.

Read on to discover how you can easily prevent a deadly situation for your pooch…

Symptoms of Tick Paralysis

Usually the signs will start 5-7 days after the tick has actually bit your dog, but it will usually take a few tick bites simultaneously in order for paralysis to actually begin occurring. The tell tale signs are that your pet will appear much weaker and will have difficulty moving his hind legs.

Your pet dog may also show difficulty in breathing, chewing or even swallowing, though he may not have any fever or other symptoms. It is very important for you to recognise these signs immediately as otherwise there can be respiratory failure leading to death of your pooch.

Analysis

Based on the symptoms exhibited and the health condition of your pet at that time, paralysis may be identified as having occurred. Though the incidence of paralysis is also dependent on specific seasons, the good news is that the moment the ticks are picked up and thrown away out of the pet’s body, your pet will show a quick recovery.

Of course, easy diagnosis also comes from the signs of paralysis, but you should regularly check your dog for ticks, if his/her behavior becomes strange, especially if you are often in regions which have ticks.

Cures

One effective method of treatment is to pick all the ticks from the body and throw them away.

Picking up all the ticks on the pet’s body may be fraught with difficulty especially if your pet is very hairy and in that case you may need to shave your pet to ensure all ticks are effectively removed.

Though most dogs make a quick recovery once the ticks are eliminated, some of them may have to be treated by the veterinarian if the condition is more serious.

You can also administer an antitoxin injection to your pet to enable him to get well soon.

I really enjoy watching the television series called Stargate with my son. Its basic idea is that aliens seeded the earth thousands of years ago and use humans as hosts for themselves to live in. While controlling their mind they are a highly advanced alien race that resembles a snake and inhabits the bodies of humanoids. A friendly alien is removed from its host in one episode and is dying. They try to replicate its surroundings inside of a human but it still continues to die. One of the doctors is reminded that a human being has a small electrical current going through the body continuously, just as it seems that all hope is lost; kind of like a built in perpetual microcurrent therapy. So the doctors introduced a small electrical current to the alien’s artificial environment and it came miraculously back to life. Animal Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation

Electrotherapy, or, microcurrent therapy has been used for at least two thousand years. In fact, a Roman Doctor named Scribonius Largus in 46 AD recommended to his patients that they should stand on top of a live torpedo fish to help cure such things as gout and headaches. Torpedo fish can give off a powerful electric shock to stun their prey. In the second century a physician named Claudius Galen also recommended the electric fish as an appropriate medical therapy.

All over the world low intensity CES has been used for centuries to fight every thing from depression to anxiety; back aches and spinal injuries, headaches and many other disorders. So with so much history and research and success with microcurrent therapy is there any reason why our pets shouldn’t benefit from this science?

When I was researching a problem I was having with my cat I came across a website. Using CES on household pets and horses a lady named Ava Frick is seeing enormous results. She is witnessing anxiety, pain, depression, and countless other problems plaguing the animals we adore and love fade away by properly using and implementing the tools of microcurrent therapy. In the areas of animal and pet pain, depression and anxiety she’s an impressive expert.

I know that some of you may be thinking of that device that my mother-in-law purchased in order to stop her dog from barking. It went around the animal’s neck like a collar and whenever the dog barked the collar would emit an enormous electric shock to stun the poor dog into associating barking with severe pain. That is not what I’m talking about when writing about microcurrent therapy. That point has to be made crystal clear. That kind of electric shock therapy is torturous and really should be outlawed in my opinion. Microcurrent therapy is designed to relieve pain and suffering and provide happiness and joy to your beloved animals. Don’t let yourself be fooled by the similarities. They really have little in common. To ensure your animal is in the best environment to enable healing and relief Ava Frick uses state of the art technology in a highly controlled environment. Pet Chiropractic

If you have a dog, you must be responsible for it, which means that you’ll acquire some obligations. Very often, pups are bought on an impulse because they’re cute or because one of your children asks for one, and it isn’t until later that you realize what it takes to have a dog.

Dogs not only need food, they also need water, sun, shade, a place where to relieve themselves, and that’s not counting their emotional needs. You might have heard that getting a pet door installed is a great way to make life easier for you while getting some of your pet’s needs taken care of. Here is a small list of things that have to be taken into consideration when selecting a pet door, or even to decide if you should get one or not.

Safety

When installed correctly, pet doors are safe. There are some people that think that a burglar can break into their houses through a pet door, and in a few cases, they might not be too far from the truth. For instance, if your dog is a large breed, the pet door that you need to install for it might actually be big enough to let a human to try to use it to open the door. Fortunately, you can try the same trick yourself before buying the door; just use your arm and see how long you can stretch it through the trap door in an attempt to reach the approximate distance of your door knob. If your arm can reach the door knob, then that pet door is obviously not safe for you. For most cases, the smaller animals work best for safe pet doors.

Usefulness

Another factor to consider when thinking about installing one of these doors is how useable it will be for your pet. Is your pet large enough and strong enough to push the door open and be able to get out? In addition, how safe is the area that your pet will be exiting to? If the animal is exiting into, for example, a fenced in back yard, then a pet door makes more sense for your specific situation.

I was thinking to myself, “Why would I need obedience training for my dog”? Then, I came to realize obedience training is just like potty training a toddler.

When I see the puppy, I will know his or her name.

I went to the kennel and picked out a Red male Doberman pinscher. I fell in love with that dog, but really the struggle was yet to come. People insisted that I send him to dog training classes. Different scenario’s just kept popping up like obedience training, dog training collars, dog behavior training and potty training. I realize that this is where money starts to add up. It’s like having a child!

I live in Manhattan, in other words, “dog heaven”. It looks like there are just as many dogs as there are people, with these dogs walking around with their masters. Dog training still wasn’t in the price range I was looking for. “Dobee” was a 5 months and growing fast so I opted for real positive dog training. I felt like I was raising my hand in school saying “me-me-me!” I decided that this was the right training for Dobee.

The best decision I could of made, honestly.

You do not want this to happen. “He steals food from the plae.” “he won’t come back when he is called.” “He destroyed the living room furniture.” “He barks all night.” “He’s a great dog, but I wish he wouldn’t . . . “

Recently I heard a great story. Her owners took good care of and she was an old girl. After showing signs of dog joint pain they brought her in to see an animal nutritionist a couple of years back and the advice and pet arthritis products did wonders for her. This guy took his wife out on the town. When they came home they found their house in complete shambles even though they locked before they left. Every curtain was ripped off the walls, every piece of furniture was turned upside down, and there was blood everywhere. It appeared as though the house had been broken in to. The searched the house after they called the police to see if anyone was still in the house, you know, like they do on TV. Once they cleared the house they looked to see if anything had been stolen. Strangely enough nothing seemed to be stolen. They had a collie/sheppard mix.

The story takes a mysterious twist. There seemed to be some blood around the dog’s mouth. By conflating that information with the knowledge that there was blood all over the led was cause for my friends and the authorities to believe that the dog was responsible for scaring the crackers out of whoever broke in. It appears as though the locks on the doors were nothing compared with the well oiled machine they had as a family pet.

This is how it all happened the way my friend sees it. The dog had apparently never hurt anyone her entire life. Her whole life she grew up with little children pulling her hair, poking her in the eyes, pulling her tail, and so on. The dog had never shown signs of anger toward anyone. They always bought the best nutritional diet for the dog, and when it got older, like I said they managed the dog joint pain with proper animal chiropractic care. So my friend figures the dog heard someone walking around the house and decided to see who it might be. The intruder took an offensive position when he saw the large dog and tried fighting off the dog. The dog then began defending herself and her masters and began dealing with the burglar the way she knew best.

This dog was, are you ready for this, eighteen years old. Now, according to the latest scientific data an eighteen year old dog is equal to a human being who is eighty eight years old. Can you imagine that? By loving this animal, treating the dog joint pain with proper animal pain relief, and feeding her a proper nutritional diet had a loyal, passionate member of the family who was up to the challenge when her family needed her most. Isn’t that an amazing story? Dog Pain Relief

If allergy attacks suddenly become a problem for you and it is not caused by the common cold, weather conditions and other uncontrollable factors, it may be caused by dander or scurf from the coat of your pet rabbit, in which case you need to look at improved rabbit care. Children are often highly susceptible to rabbit allergies, but proper rabbit grooming is one way to eliminate the household allergies you and your family experience.

Everyone should pay attention to rabbit care and place high importance of rabbit grooming. Grooming is one essential aspect of rabbit care. This is particularly important during winter, when you and your pet spend more time at home or other closed environments.

Rabbit care is great if done properly and you will notice that you become much closer to your pet, forming a special bond in the process. Because of this, your rabbit will be more comfortable in your hands, while providing him or her with necessary emotional support. In addition, you will get to know your pet rabbit, allowing you to know what areas he or she dislikes or likes to be touched. By touching a specific area, you’re sure to find that any health problems are identified much quicker.

When getting involved with rabbit grooming, make yourself aware of the fact hair loss problems might become apparent to you and these should be examined by a vet. Regular grooming sessions will help you to see if the pet has any ticks or mites which need treating.

When you have no idea how to perform rabbit grooming, the trick is to take it step by step to achieve the best results. There are many aspects that make up proper rabbit care, and grooming is just one of them. Don’t just assume that dogs and cats need grooming, because there are many animals that need to be groomed.

Pet grooming can help prevent unwanted sickness for both you and your pet. Making sure your pet receives proper grooming not only provides physical benefits, but also makes you and your pet closer to each other.
